Ryan Avatt, BSc(Hons) PgDip MSc ICIOB MinstRE MRICS
Ryan began his career while still studying for a BSc in Design and Construction Management with a civil engineering company in 1995. On successfully completing his Bachelor’s degree, he joined a specialist contractor, as a Quantity Surveyor making his mark in providing commercial and project management support to clients that targeted multi-let industrial estates and multi-let purpose built office parks for investment. Ryan left in 2000 to take a senior surveyor role for a globally recognised first choice utility contractor with a reputation in providing utility networks.
After three successful years being involved in providing cost effective design and construction services he moved from main contracting across to a surveying role with a specialist consultant that provided consultancy, investigation and testing services to the civil, building and mechanical engineering industries. In 2004, having completed a Post Graduate diploma in Geomaterials and having started a family, Ryan moved to work closer to home to work, and into the public sector for the Accord Group as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator looking after the repair and maintenance and refurbishments of local housing stock and educational buildings in a local London Borough.
Ryan joined Faithful+Gould in 2005 as a Quantity Surveyor, based within the Infrastructure team, supporting a variety of high value, strategically important projects, performing pre and post contract services for various transport sector clients. In 2007, Ryan was seconded to London City Airport to support the provision of an Apron Extension over the King George V Dock, a modular Gate Lounge and associated infrastructure. Having successfully completing a Master of Science in Commercial Management, in 2009 he took a 6 month engagement to provide commercial assistance, advice and supervising officer duties for the Royal Engineers in Afghanistan. On returning from Operations Ryan returned to London City Airport for Faithful+Gould as a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take charge of a team of project staff, where his role was split between responsibility and deliverables, and included responsibility for the planning, budgeting and the coordination of various construction projects.
In 2013, recognising that there was a place for a niche, quality driven project and commercial management consultancy business in the industry; he set up Quant and Measur.
